Data Center Program Manager -- Cisco's Global Government Solutions

flexible support services to our government customers, enabling them
to exploit network technology to meet their objectives.
This
role is key to developing large Data Center consulting projects in
areas such as Data Center consolidations, migrations, new design
projects and Data Center Virtualization projects around technology and
operational activities. The Program manager will develop consulting
project/program plans, create SOWs, create proposals, quote and scope
Data Center consulting projects to enterprise level customers. Will
document best practices and create technical and business white
papers.
The Program Manager will provide leadership to
diverse and talented project teams. Collaborate with clients to
understand their business objectives, develop and manage a project and
ensure successful on-time, on-budget delivery. Resource will be
responsible for multiple concurrent large-scale enterprise projects
and services pursuits In addition to leading project teams that may
include partner resources.
Key aspects of the role
include:
- Present credible, competent and passionate
knowledge of the infrastructure and supporting organizations in the
data center that supports the applications that run the business.
- Primary DC consults capable of working with Account teams and
customer to properly understand business and IT objectives and scope,
propose appropriate project and team to accomplish objectives.
- Comfortable in executive discussions as well as working with DC
operations and technology teams.
- Leading multiple concurrent
project initiatives from proposal through implementation and client
acceptance.
- Experience managing, communicating and
coordinating a global deployment team.
- Ensuring projects are
delivered on time, within budget and exceed client expectations.
- Ensure effective and timely communication within the project
teams and across the company and the client management teams.
-Manage services sales process: activities include scoping, pricing
and negotiation.
- Generate and lead new business initiatives
within existing client base.
- Assist pre-sales efforts by
serving as a subject matter expert and providing financial (ROI) and
technical competitive analysis.
- Responsible for budgeting,
financial reports and billing approval for projects. - Assist in
the development of key processes, policy decisions and technical
implementations, and service programs.
- Capable of developing
or identifying best practices and developing collateral around them.
- Develop and nurture strong client relationships at the executive
and director levels; educate and advise clients on industry trends and
technologies; attain trusted advisor status to clients.
- Help
qualify and develop new business initiatives within existing client
base and targeted prospects.
Requirements:
Prefer at least 4 year undergrad degree with success in management
and/or IT related consulting.
Soft Skill Sets required:
-Diplomacy skills. Excellent written and verbal skills required. -
Experience in IT consulting projects including managing Enterprise
solutions. - Strong customer facing skills, including ability to
establish credibility with CxO level, director level and technical
professionals. - Ability to propose and present - Proven ability
to document, comprehensive project plans and recommendations -
Ability sell technology
Technical Skills desired but all not mandatory:
- Experience with Data Center planning, design, implementation,
operations, and optimization.
- Experience in managing or
implementing complex projects based on diverse datacenter technologies
including infrastructure components (SAN, LAN, server), OS software
(Windows, Linux, Solaris), Virtualization software (VMware, Xen),
application software (Oracle Fusion, WebSphere, SAP platforms), and
management and automation platforms (Tivoli, Openview, Blade Logic,
Scalant).
